Aerial Monitoring of Photovoltaic Plants

Aerial monitoring services of large photovoltaic systems

Energy and Photovoltaic

Aerial monitoring service of a large photovoltaic plant (25 hectares, 15MW) managed by the PLC Service group.

The inspection operations were carried out within a day and the diagnosis report of the health of the system was delivered to the customer a few days later. As the photovoltaic system was large (25 hectares, 15MW, approximately 67,000 modules) has been divided by the owner into 12 areas as shown.

The inspection operations were carried out within a day and the diagnosis report of the health of the system was delivered to the customer a few days later.

The output delivered to the customer contains various information that is very useful to the customer: first of all, we provide the digital model of the field (digital twin) that we have reconstructed with very high precision with artificial intelligence techniques applied to photogrammetry; all photos and high-resolution thermograms are delivered to the customer, together with an Excel sheet summarizing all the thermal and mechanical anomalies found during the inspection. Finally, the customer receives the certified report, which can also be used by the owner or manager of the field for complaints to the panel supplier (in the first years of operation, the modules are by European law covered by a guarantee from the manufacturer).

All the serial numbers of the plant modules (61,710 in this case) are detected and recorded in such a way that the customer has complete and updated knowledge of their plant, as required by the regulatory body. In fact, on request, we are also able to carry out the complete census of the serial numbers of the solar panels of a photovoltaic field, even of large dimensions, in accordance with the GSE (Italian Energy Services Company) Standards on the certification of photovoltaic systems and access to the related incentives.
RIASSUNTO.PNG
Thanks to our quick intervention, the customer was able to intervene in a short time on the defects indicated by us as critical, improving the productivity of the production plant. Generally, our report, being carried out by a certified thermographic operator who operates according to the IEC 62446-3 standards (here nearby insert the RINA certified logo, or at the bottom), can be used by the managers of the photovoltaic fields or by the owners to open any claims towards the supplier of the panels (which are compulsorily under warranty).
