Aerial topography services from drone, to support studies in the design of engineering and architectural works for the mitigation of hydraulic risk of regional interest
The operations were carried out within the Regione Campania Program for the Sarno river basin area (the municipalities of Torre Annunziata, Pompei, San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Boscoreale, Terzigno and Poggiomarino (study 1 a: plan of flights carried out in the Vesuvian urban area, study 1 b: detail of the inhabited center of San Giuseppe Vesuviano).

With our intervention we have provided the design studios with the detailed scale topography of an area of approximately 200 hectares (study 2: detail of the dimensioned drawing of an intersection with discontinuity lines and contour lines; study 3: digital terrain model (b), orthomosaic from above (a) and drawing of a road intersection in the Pompeii area (c). In this way, the engineers were able to produce in record time the preliminary design of the purification plant for the area, based on a precise topography provided at very low cost compared to standard methodologies (photogrammetry from airplanes or topography from the ground).

3D Reconstruction
In parallel with the topography service, we also conducted operations for the complete 3D reconstruction of the urban centers of the municipalities concerned (Study 4a and 4b: 3D rendering of two portions of the municipality of San Giuseppe Vesuviano).
This type of output is very different from a simple topography and has much wider applications: in addition to the civil technical field, 3D renderings highly faithful to the reality of large areas are interesting for advertising applications for the promotion of the areas and for the digitization of public architectural heritage.

Operations conducted in built-up areas such as these require a great deal of experience from the pilots and constant updating of the drone company with the competent authorities. Our company independently takes care of everything and leaves it to the customer only to identify the objectives and the necessary technical specifications.
